“Women and Spirit” coming soon to a city near you

The Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) has created an exhibit showcasing the history and contributions of Catholic sisters in the United States. Through photos, artifacts, and documentations, “Women and Spirit: Catholic Sisters in America” explores how sisters played a vital role in shaping American life. The traveling exhibit is booked for the following locations in 2011–2012: Los Angeles, California; September–December 2011, South Bend, Indiana; January–June 2012, Sacramento, California. The Jesuit Community at Loyola University in Chicago welcomes interested men for a Come and See weekend. Meet young Jesuits in early formation and learn about Jesuit life, training, and ministries. A Nun Run: A Tour to Meet Some Amazing Women
April 14, 2012

From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi Motherhouse, 3221 S. Lake Dr., St. Francis, Wisconsin. A Nun Run is a day long experience during which women are invited to visit with amazing women: Women Religious (Sisters)! You will see and hear firsthand how their ministries help to make a difference in the present and future for the people in the Milwaukee area. You will have the opportunity to visit their ministry sites, a local community, and to share prayer, snacks, and Q & A’s!

This experience is for single Catholic women, ages 18-40.

  • We invite you to a day of touring, learning, visiting, laughing, eating, pondering, and praying with amazing women who are making a difference through service, community life, and prayer!
  • We invite you to learn more about the mission of these religious communities and the unique ways that women religious give service as signs of God’s mercy, love, justice, and hope in our world today.
  • If you have been considering a “call” to a religious life style, this would be a great place to start!
  • If you would like to have further information on how to discern a “call” to religious life, learn about the variety of communities, their mission, their way of life, their spiritualties… Well, this is the opportunity for you!
